8-26-77

8-26-77 - I set out today for the minefield to see if i couldnt find a few free mines and to help Moira with her book, and before i could make it out of town a Settler thanked me for being a good person in this day of age and gave me a free stimpak. That was pretty nice. I had to pass through Springfield again and there were some more Raiders at the school. They must have been a relief squad or somthing.
As I was walking i came across some debris of what looked like an old neiborhood. I poked around there and found a few safes with a 10mm pistol, laser pistol and some ammo for each, and some other salvage like piolt lights. There was a protectron ontop of a hill just north of the ruble. I charged it with my knife from behind a tree so that he couldn't target me. Then I tore it a new one. By the time all that was done it was about noon, so i stoped to have some lunch with Silver.
A few more Raiders atacked me. I cut them all to bits with my knife. The last one begged for mercy, so I just blew her up with a frag. People like them don't deserve to live. Thats Wasteland Justice. As I looked past the next hill I could see what would only be known as the minefield.
IN THE MINEFIELD THERE WAS A CRAZY SNIPER!!! Thats was not fun at all. He was shooting the cars to make them explode on me. But I doged and weaved the explosions, and picked up a few mines along the way. I made it to the playground and back out just like Moira wanted. I rushed out of there as fast as I could.
The walk home was boringly uneventful. I made it back in about 2 hours and gave Moira the mine. She was SO happy. Almost more then I would have been to get one. And that is quite a lot. She gave me some grenades, I'm VERY happy about that, cuz i was running low. And taught me how to make these bottlecap mines I keep finding. I wanna blow somthing big up with that. She gave me a few stims for helping finish this first chapter. But then asked me to go get REALLY hurt.... great.
I figured the best way was to set a mine and shoot it. ... Seems kinda dumb now that I think about what I did. But it worked. She called in Doc Church and Doc Hoff, luckily he was in town, and they studied and fixed me up. Needless to say I'm going to sleep good tonight.
Turned in some scrap metal at the water plant before heading home. Its early but I am tired as anything. Tomorow I test a repelent stick on some mole rats. Should be fun. For now, a lot of deep sleep.
